| Not familiar with the city. Know of any good (1 bedroom, ideally) places opening up? Good areas/bad areas? I check kijiji and whatnot pretty regularly... figured I should give this board a shot. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. | |

| Stay out of the Northeast or South east, easily the shittiest parts of this city. | |

| Not all of the east is mediocre. Riverbend is not bad, and the deep southeast(Douglasdale and downwards) is similar to the NW or SW

| there is nowhere in calgary that is legitimately sketchy to live in. i'd rather live in the northeast cause rent is cheaper and the food is better, really. 17th ave SE through forest lawn rules. you should be able to find a one-bedroom suite in the inner city area for pretty cheap. rentfaster.ca is good too, rentspot is worth looking, craigslist, and i found my current place on kijiji. | |

| Found some sweet places in Sunnyside and 17th Ave. I'm sure at least one of them will still be available come June. Good call on rentfaster. | |

| Sunnyside/Kensington is a great area to live in, when I was living there I was paying $1000/month for a 1 bedroom apartment(not including utilities, pay laundry). I'm now in the SW not too far from 17th ave; I'm sharing a basement suite w/ 2 other dudes for $950( all utilities included, free laundry). Where I'm at now is nice, and I really can't complain. The neighborhood is quite, clean and full of old people... | |

| we pay $1000 for a whole house in bridgeland, divided between three duudz. unfinished basement for jamming, upstairs is a loft bedroom, my room is a converted garage and is HUGE and has a fireplace in it. neighbourhood is mostly old-as-fuck italians who are all starting to croak and yuppie property managers are buying up all the land for condos. won't be nearly as charming in a few years for sure. | |

| Found a place. Thanks for all the advice. I'll be looking for a jam space eventually as well... maybe some people to jam with... once I can afford some drum things anyways. | |

| Anyone need a roommate?
Got a job starting June 13, would prefer not living with creeps. Weirdos and freaks are cool though. | |
